Dot Connect
Privacy Policy · last updated 5 October 2026 · by tinydot studio
Dot Connect is a free, cozy line puzzle. It works fully offline and needs no account. It is paid for by a small banner ad and optional rewarded videos. This page explains the ads and the small amount of data used by the cloud save.
What stays on your phone
Your level, hints, streak and settings are stored on your device.
What the cloud save stores
- A random player ID and a device key (the key is stored scrambled, so we cannot read it back).
- Your recovery code, stored only as a one-way hash. The code itself is never stored.
- Your game progress and look-and-feel choices (the same data as above).
- A nickname and a profile icon. The game gives you a friendly made-up nickname (like CozyDot42) and an icon; you can change both. Please do not use your real name.
- A scrambled (hashed) version of your network address for a few hours, only to stop abuse (rate limiting).
We do not collect your name, email address, contact list, photos or precise location.
Ads
Ads are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may use your device's advertising ID, your approximate location (from your network address, not GPS) and technical information about the ad. We do not receive or store this ourselves. Google handles it under its privacy policy.
- iPhone: the game asks, through Apple's tracking prompt, whether it may track you. If you choose Ask App not to Track, ads are not personalised with your advertising ID.
- Europe and the UK: a consent message lets you accept or refuse personalised ads.
Deleting your data
In the game: Settings → Profile & cloud save → Erase my cloud data. See also how to delete your data.
Children
The game has no chat and nothing scary, but it shows ads, so it is not made for children under 13.
